The EDB to provide up to US $3.5 million to finance LED production facilities in Tajikistan
Dushanbe, 1 December 2022. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) intends to provide up to US $3.5 million to Gayur Korea Technology to finance the establishment of LED production facilities in Tajikistan. The relevant memorandum was signed by Ruslan Dalenov, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Akbar Asadullo, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Gayur Group. The signing took place during presentation of the Bank’s 2022–2026 Country Strategy for Tajikistan.
The facilities will manufacture household LED lamps, items and fixtures, streetlights, LED lamps for industrial buildings and decoration, building and landscape lights, as well as tubular LED lamps. The use of cutting-edge equipment and technology will help to localise manufacturing processes.
“As part of its 2026 Strategy, the Eurasian Development Bank is stepping up its operations in Tajikistan. All the country’s projects that are currently under consideration fully accord with our fundamental principles and will contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This project, for example, is in line with energy efficiency targets. The EDB’s investment will help Tajikistan to switch to energy-saving technology and set up highly profitable production facilities,” said Ruslan Dalenov.
