The EDB to transact in the Belarussian roubles

Almaty, 4 June 2018. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) opened a correspondent account for domestic payments in the Belarussian roubles with the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. The Bank is also negotiating access to transactions at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.

“This work is part of the Bank’s Strategy to support the financial markets and enhance payments in the national currencies of its member states,” Dmitry Ladikov-Roev, Managing Director for Assets and Liabilities at the EDB, comments. “This year, the Bank plans to open correspondent accounts in the national currencies with all the central banks of our member states.”
