Moscow, 22 June 2020. TÜV AUSTRIA, a global leader in certification, has audited the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) information security system and certified its conformity to the international standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is a standard combining international best practices in information security management.

“We have implemented an information security management system for our project operations in the first place, as well as for all types of lending and financing of the real and financial sectors, bond projects, and the financing of banking institutions,” said Andrey Beliyaninov, Chairman of the EDB Management Board, at the certificate award ceremony. “Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of the assets used in banking processes is the key to the continuity and reliability of our operations.”

“On behalf of TÜV AUSTRIA, a well-recognised leader in international certification, I would like to emphasise that the Eurasian Development Bank has fully conformed to the best international practices relating to information security systems,” commented Rudolf Lukavsky, Commercial Counsellor at the Austrian Embassy in Russia, “as well as the highest requirements for the creation, development, and maintenance of an information security management system.”

“The Bank has demonstrated the ability to protect its information resources and is ready to operate, monitor, analyse, support, and improve the security management system. The choice of appropriate security management measures designed to protect information assets and guaranteeing the trust of stakeholders is, of course, the key to the success of the Eurasian Development Bank,” added Dmitry Yartsev, TÜV AUSTRIA’s Regional Director for the CIS.
