Tigran Sargsyan and Arman Shakkaliyev discuss the scaling up of Kazakhstan’s digital projects within the EDB operational space

Astana, 13 October 2023. Tigran Sargsyan, Vice Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Management Board, and Arman Shakkaliyev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration, held a working meeting in Astana.

During the meeting, the supervisor of the EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives presented the fund’s ongoing projects, including the Work in the EAEU mobile app, the BEE-ONLINE.ru international digital platform geared towards developing and scaling up light-sector businesses, and a pilot project aimed at promoting digital trade in the jewellery sector to enhance jewellery exports within the Eurasian Economic Union.

Tigran Sargsyan and Arman Shakkaliyev also discussed the possibility of determining the most effective business model for the Eurasian Commodity Distribution Network using the examples of transport and logistics hubs at Kazakhstan’s borders with the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan.

They also highlighted the potential for scaling up Kazakhstan’s digital projects in other EDB countries.
