UNGA appreciates EDB's positive role in and contribution to integration of EurAsEC countries
Almaty, 22 November 2012. The UN General Assembly appreciated Eurasian Development Banks work «supporting the development and integration of the Eurasian Economic Community member states.» This is stated in the resolution on cooperation between the UN and EurAsEC adopted at the 67th session of the General Assembly in New York.
This assessment of the Banks positive role in the region is a result of EDBs proactive cooperation with the UN and its participation in EurAsEC projects.

This year EDB and UNECE assess the readiness of some Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan for public-private partnership (PPP). The purpose of the research is to determine these countries needs for the development of infrastructure, to analyse strategically the factors that foster the advancement of PPP, to study areas for the implementation of pilot projects, and to prepare a plan of action for the countries that take part in the project.
In addition, EDB has provided technical assistance at the request of the EurAsEC Integration Committees Secretariat in the preparation of the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Road and Rail Infrastructure included in the list of EurAsEC transport routes and the draft Blueprint for Managing the EurAsEC Single Transport Space. The projects have been implemented by the Scientific Centre for Complex Transport Problems of the Russian Ministry of Transport.
