EDB Published Yearbook on Regional Integration
Almaty, 7 July 2009. The EDB’s Eurasian Integration Yearbook 2009 (https://eabr.org/analytics/) came out of press. This English-language research periodical familiarises the international expert community with the theoretical and practical aspects of political and economic integration of post-Soviet countries, and offers a wide range of papers on the fundamental and day-to-day problems of Eurasian integration. The Yearbook mainly comprises selected materials from the EDB’s quarterly Yevraziyskaya Ekonomicheskaya Integratsiya (“Eurasian economic integration”) (https://eabr.org/analytics/).
This second Yearbook includes a collection of papers on institutional integration and its effect on economic growth, and a summary of the experience of regional economic co-operation organisations in Central Asia. The Economic Integration section includes articles on investments and environmental situation in Central Asia. These materials are supplemented with an overview of regional integration events in 2008 and activities of international development banks in the region.
The list of the Yearbook’s authors reflects wide geography of contacts the Bank maintains with researchers from neighbouring and remote countries. The Yearbook’s contributors are the EDB’s research staff and international experts representing various research centres such as the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Brookings Institution, the World Bank, and others.
