ESG Ratings
ESG Ratings are a valuable research assessment that help institutional investors obtain an independent high-level profile of an organisation in terms of its exposure to risks, management efforts and capabilities of financially material environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities, as well as determine the level of resilience to long-term issues. In particular, such ratings reflect what efforts a company makes to manage their risks and how exposed it is to sustainability issues in the long term.
EDB will enhance its disclosure, transparency and reporting, continually improve its practices, focused particularly on material factors typical of multilateral development banks.
This position reflects the Bank's efforts to achieve a higher ESG rating. signalling its continued dedication to raising its own standards and those of its clients and partners on the market. The EDB strives to serve as a regional source of inspiration and positive change.
Starting December 2021 and up-to-date, EDB receives a rating of B in the MSCI ESG Rating assessment. EDB tends to demonstrate continuous improvement and commitment to ESG principles.

In August 2024, EDB received a Current RRI of 14, indicating low risk; a Peak PRRI of 27, indicating low to medium risk; and a Rating of BB, indicating medium risk.
